Brief Introduction to the
Troupe
1997年，一位从事于物理和应用数学专业、对音乐一窍不通、却对南非当地民间击鼓艺术独具慧眼的外行——华伦·利伯曼先生创办了“鼓魂”咖啡馆，吸引当地一批民间击鼓艺人组成南非“鼓魂”乐团，目的是将非洲大陆上最古老、最直观的击鼓艺术发扬光大。11年来，该民间乐团由当初的8位演员发展到现在的60位专业演员，积极开拓文化产业市场，并在世界范围内成立了众多分支机构。
In
1997, Warren Lieberman, a physician and applied mathematician who
didn’t know much about music, realized the special value of the folk
drumming art in South African. Wishing to carry forward the most
ancient and intuitive drumming art in the African continent, he
established “Drumstruck Cafe” and the local drum band, “Drumstruck”.
For 11 years of active exploration of cultural market, the band has
developed from 8 drummers into 60 professional performers, setting
up several branches all around the
world.

As
a key representative company concentrating on of South African folk
drumming art, “Drumstruck Cafe” inherits and develops the
traditional form of drum music by combining various African music
elements. With lively rhythm, strong emotion, intense beats and
cheerful dances, its performance will let the audience indulge in a
unique drumming experience accompanied by crazy and cheerful
catharsis imposed by primitive and forceful
music.
